In 2004, 16 years before anyone had ever heard the world “COVID-19”, musical theatre and cabaret star Queenie van de Zandt and musical director/composer Andrew Worboys, collaborated on Queenie’s second album of original music – Other Stories... - but for various reasons it was never released.

Fast forward to 2020 when the word “COVID-19”, along with the words pandemic and pivot were on everyone’s lips.  With suddenly all her gigs cancelled and nothing in her diary, Queenie, like many others, did a “Marie Kondo” and cleaned out her office drawers.  And that’s when she rediscovered her unreleased album.

“Although my voice has grown and developed so much since 2004, the recordings still ‘sparked joy’ to quote Marie Kondo”, Queenie laughs. “But I thought it was too late to release it now.  That was until Joni Mitchell released her archival recordings. And I thought, well this is an archival recording, and if it’s good enough for Joni, it’s good enough for me.”

The album is Queenie’s third independently produced album – following Amazon Woman and Queenie van de Zandt – Live in Cabaret.
